Meet Kristine --

Kristine Twigley is a born-again
Her daily routine used to con-
sist of working all day and then
going home to watch TV and knit,
Now she is aiming to complete
11 multi-sport and running events
in five months, including the
Round the Bays fun run in Wel-
lington this weekend.
The Round the Bays run will be
her sixth sports event in the past
After suffering a personal hard-
ship in May last year, the Island
Bay resident decided to change
her life around and get fit.
I've got a friend whose son has
cancer and I've lost a few friends
over the years.
I just thought, if they were liv-
ing right now they would be
healthy [while] I had everything,
two arms, two legs, no major
illnesses or issues. I felt I was
wasting what I had.''
Twigley's doctor told her she
was at risk of getting diabetes if
she continued with her lifestyle.
So she signed up with Green
Prescription, a health support
group organised by Sport Welling-

information about events and
activities in Wellington and dis-

and has lost 25kg since she
