a billboard to provide thought-

Nike tick and slogan to put for-
ward a more Christian message.
Senior pastor Glenn Edmonds
said he had been creating the
signs for about eight years.
There were two reasons it all
started, he said.
First was really just to bring
some thought-provoking ideas
out,'' he said.
Rather than the traditional
Jesus loves you'', the messages
bring about Christian and life
The second reason was that it
made the church easier for people
to find, and took the church into
the community, he said.
They are thought-provoking
ideas. Some are a little bit sensi-

Easter which said, Body piercing
saved my soul''.
They had also taken a dig at
pizza chain Hell Pizza, which
refers to Christians in its adver-
tising, he said. The sign read,
Hell has burnt pizza''.
Mr Edmonds has sourced the
ideas, which he said required
effort. Some ideas came from
other billboards, common sayings
and the internet.
One parishioner saw a board
overseas, photographed it, and
brought it home for the church to
adapt. Mr Edmonds is leaving the
parish shortly and moving to
Auckland. He was unsure who
would take over, but hoped the
signage would continue.
He said there had been some
great signs over the years which
